Ravenscroft Family

There’s something about fresh, local flowers that captures your heart.

It’s a familiar scent from childhood that triggers a faded memory; there’s the feeling of a warm embrace that spans distance between loved ones; and there’s a sense of hope that, no matter what you may be facing, there’s always natural beauty to be shared and treasured amongst friends.

As flower farmers, we have the privilege of growing seasonal blooms that evoke feelings of connection and joy for our neighbors and friends from afar. We focus our eco-conscious efforts on establishing healthy, fertile soil—without the use of pesticides—to cultivate the most lush perennials, annuals, culinary herbs, and produce for our community.

We bought Mare Brook Farm, while we were six months pregnant with our son.

Since then, we've sown a whole lot of dreams into our fields with two goals in mind: inspiring more ways for friends near and far to connect in meaningful ways and helping our son experience the impact of giving back to our community.

Every day, M asks if we are going to, "deliver flowers to friends?" He loves hearing the joy in your voices when you first look at a bouquet, making you laugh during drop-offs, or sharing how he grew these blooms (with the help of his favorite toy).

We know that he’s learning the meaning of gratitude by your example. And, he’s beginning to see how encouragement, love, and solidarity can be shared amongst friends in a variety of ways.

Sharing others' expressions of love, support, nostalgia, and appreciation through our flowers has been among the most inspiring and impactful work of our lives.

And, we have you to thank for your support of our family farm and your partnership in helping to sow smiles around greater Brunswick.

Appreciatively,
Courtney, Ryan, M, Peary, and Willa

Our Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

Just as we’re committed to building meaningful connections with our community, our family is equally passionate about integrating sustainable farming practices as we cultivate stunning flowers for you. This begins by not applying pesticides to our fields. Throughout the season, we amend our soil with organic compost; employ cover crops to infuse nutrients into our fields, and refrain from clear-cutting stems to provide animals and insects with food sources and shelter during the long winter months.

  • When preparing flowers for you to enjoy, we continue to seek the most environmentally friendly ways to package blooms. All of our bouquets are either wrapped in kraft paper—which can be recycled or composted—or delivered in mason jars that you can repurpose or returned for sterilization and future use.. Special arrangements and wedding florals never include floral foam. Instead, we rely on multi-use water tubes and floral wire to provide blooms with hydration and structure.

We work diligently to make sure that we leave our slice of Maine’s ecosystem better than we found it, and we appreciate your support throughout this journey.
